Carnival Events – Saturday and new for 2018 on Sunday 1 July – Picnic in the Park

Saturday:

Carnival events and entertainment will take place in Abbey Fields near St Nicholas Church – displays, stalls and entertainment, all beside Wilsons Fun Fair.

ACTS FOR ABBEY FIELDS 2018

1.45PM – CHINEWRDE MORRIS DANCERS Kenilworth’s own famous Morris side will perform, but as a grass surface is not suitable, they will be on the Church path at the top of the field.

2.15PM – THE CREW The celebrated cheerleaders of Coventry Blaze get our afternoon off to a great start.

2.45PM – THE KICKERS Live on stage, a punk rock band from Leamington Spa. This talented group consists of Jack Roberts (Vocals), Sean Robinson and Andrew Miller (Guitar), Catherine Tormey (Bass), Travis Waddell (Drums) and Jude Radley (keys).

3.30PM – ATMA KARATE We are joined by Kenilworth’s own ATMA Karate, showing us skills in the art of TANG Soo Do. From the basics, forms, weapons and a fight (self defence) and some audience participation will be required.

4.00PM – SEA CADETS The marching Sea Cadets will enter the arena to entertain.

4.30PM – POP CHORUS Pop Chorus welcomes people of all ages who simply love to sing! There is no need to read music, have previous experience or even perform and audition to join us – we are all about coming together to share the joy of music, mixed with a large dose of friendship in a sociable, fun and relaxed environment!

5.00PM – WARWICKSHIRE DANCE ACADEMY LAURA COTTRELL WDA’s aim is to make the lessons a fun form of exercise and beneficial in many ways including the development of co-ordination, rhythm, fitness, muscle tone, expression and confidence.

5.30PM – KRYPTIC Our headline band for 2018. Playing a mixture of rock and alternative covers and an original song of their own, the band is really looking forward to the opportunity to perform at this prestigious event in their home town!

6.00PM – SHIMMY DANCE A community Belly Dance group based in Warwick. We create our own choreographies to a mix of traditional and modern Middle Eastern music. We enjoy sharing our dancing with people and encourage audience participation.

6.30PM – KRYPTIC

7.00PM – THANK YOU AND SEE YOU TOMORROW SUNDAY 12PM – 5PM FOR PICNIC IN THE PARK WITH ENTERTAINMENT, BAR, AND FOOD

PLUS all the usual Fun and Games!

 

Sunday:

12-5pm Family fun day event with Live bands, fun fair, food and bar Radio Abbey’s DJ Matt Despilia spins a Sunday selection of lazy sunshine sounds including 80s soul, funk and disco.

  • The PommyGranites – A 4 piece Rock Band
  • The Carnival Rocks

To prove it Kenilworth Rocks will be hiding 30 Rocks in the Abbey Fields on Carnival Sunday, July 1st. Take the kids, take a picnic then take a look because if you find one of the five Lucky Rocks you win a Prize!
